Experience Gaelic Games has significantly added to the range of authenthic Irish things to do in Dublin and throughout the country. It has been set up by husband and wife team, Cormac O’Donnchú and Georgina Caraher. Their business background is in marketing, advertising, print and logistics – a combination of talents that lend themselves to organisation, people to people skills and being able to cope under pressure .
Their hearts lie with Gaelic Games and Irish culture. When they thought up the idea of introducing Gaelic Games and all good things Irish to visitors, it allowed them to combine passion and work.
Says Georgina:
“ For us, we live with Gaelic Games, music and dance every day, both from a personal perspective and through the activities of our children. So, it is amazing to extend this involvement to work and to bring this unique aspect of Irish daily life to international visitors. It’s also an absolute pleasure to add to the range of things to do in Dublin for visitors”
Our Trainers:
At Experience Gaelic Games we have a panel of trainers who work with our visiting groups, all of whom are expert GAA coaches, who play themselves and mentor teams within Gaelic Clubs.
They include:
Liam – Lets just say that Liam is getting on in years, but this does not stop his passion for the games, especially hurling and he loves showing off and passing on his skills to visitors and telling all about the “fastest game on grass”. You are guaranteed fun with Liam.
Tiernan – a quiet, shy young lad, except when it comes to Gaelic Games! Tiernan is one of those players who lives, breathes and sleeps Gaelic and he is more than happy to share this with our visitors.
Grainne
A qualified teacher, Grainne plays Ladies Camogie both for club and county and is always ready for action. She has a record with us, that her teams always win the challenge matches we have, which does not please Liam!
Fran
You need to listen carefully to Fran – he is a fountain of knowledge of all things Gaelic, but his Dublin accent needs a careful ear! Fran is patient, he takes his time and he will look after you well – it must come from living in a house full of women!
Barry
Pure skill. Barry is a very talented Dublin player who plays on the county side for both Gaelic Football and Hurling. An under 21 All Ireland football champion He is steady, patient and an excellent mentor.
Mairtin
Mairtín is a quintessential Gaelic man, full of stories, fun and action, Uncle of Paul O’Connell Irish Rugby International and Captain of the British and Irish Lionsnad father of Dublin Senior Hurler Mairtín,Don’t let his years fool you, he can run rings round most of us and knows all there is to know about GAA. A great man to have on board
Alison
This girl is “Irish crack” or fun personified. She has a sunny disposition and carries it right across all she does – she’s also a very skilful hurler and not a bad dancer!

Jim is our resident Bodhran player. The Bodhran is our traditional hand held drum and spending a session learning the basics of Bodhran playing is also one of the grreat things to do in Dublin when you’re here.
